As a note of clarification, when the car is warm and with an aux air that closes completely, it idles just fine, set at 1000, this is also the case with an aux air that does not fully close. The problem is as it warms. When cold with an aux air that is set to "standard", it idles very slow and rough, but creeps up as it warms to a stable 1000 at warm status.

With an aux air modified to be more open, it idles at 1000 when cold, drops after about 30 seconds to around 500 and rough, then gradually back to a stable 1000 as it reaches temperature. With the "standard" aux air, it idles more in the 300 rpm range when cold.

Could a AFM that binds a bit be a potential cause? I have read many of your posts and the archive of your presentation but my mechanical skills are limited although I'm having a blast with the e12.
