It's gotta come from a big six to fit. Easiest is to get the same exact tranny as later (82 on) have no place to attach the speedometer cable. A four or five speed from a 75 to 81 bimmer with a big six will work. can be from a 6 or 7 series. try your local pickapart in case you get lucky.
