I've noticed some differences in the way my 2.5 and the one off my parts car react. so you may want to try another one.
A better solution for you and me may be another 2.5 reg made for a larger engine.
It has to due with the fact that the regulators by design, can only be stable at certain flow rates due to their proportional-only control. There is another regulator used on larger engines which I may try.
