Once you've found a way to mount the new style aux air valve on the valve cover (either get new style cover or weld piece of aluminum with threaded holes for mtg feet, you just have to hook it up.
The valve uses the standard 2 pin Bosch FI connector that you could cut of and old harness or buy one at Pep Boys and crimp on longer wires.
The connection is just a heating element; one wire to a switched +12 volts. On 528i it's hooked to terminal 88c of combo relay. I would suggest the same terminal on 530i.
AFA grounding, the aux air valve in 80-81 528i is grounded through the ecu. I think I traced it before and determined it was hardwired inside.. So I think you could just ground the aux air valve to a good engine ground. I can verify that in a few days. Meanwhile figure out the mounting part..... ;->
