My wife bought me one from Ebay for my B'day in January. When I got it, I crammed it in my slot and it jammed. I had just got the computer back from Sony after a similar problem a few weeks before. So I figgered no big deal. They have a carry-in Svc center near my house. So I dropped it off. They said it was ready a few days later and I picked it up. It seems to work OK now except that when they extraced the CD it had been destroyed by the mechanism that holds the laser in a straight line. So the thing is scored, center to edge. Useless! Sony says GFY! of course, they are Sony, their poop doesn't stink. Meanwhile I don't want to tell my wife, she's pretty emotional to begin with + pregnancy + bad news= disaster! Anyway, my point is I don't owe BMW anything, they got their fee when the original purchaser bought the item. With the 3.5 conversion underway I am really finding it a pain in the ass not having the reference. If anybody out there wouldn't mind sending me theirs to duplicate, I will accept full responsibilty while it is in my posession/transport. i will duplicate it (on my work computer!) and return it the same day I receive it. Please email me if you can help me out. I'm getting kind of sick of comparing parts on the motors.
