Ooooh, a thing that makes me go hmmmm. Okay First thanks to all. Now I suppose I am left with, the problem of the shifting situation. Is the 4hp22 electronically controlled? What drives it? I have toyed with installing an old XKE 2 speed rear end. But then it would loose it's German Heart.
I think I will look for a 4hp22 and try for that .73 final. Later and Peter the r134a conversion worked but I think I may have a leak in a tube.

:
: : : Would the 4hp22 give me another gear to lower RPMS or just another gear? Is there an auto I should look for?

: Ratios of Autos:
: 3HP22
: 1 2.478
: 2 1.478
: 3 1.000
: R 2.090

: 4hp22

: 1 2.48
: 2 1.48
: 3 1.00
: 4 0.73
: R 2.09

: Seems like you would get better performance with existing rear end and 4 speed, but how to control it? Might make a nice Fall Fest tech topic.
