The first four gears of the 5-speed manual are almost identical to the gears of the 4-speed. Fifth gear is a 18.7% overdrive. In fourth the engine turns a little over 3600rpm at 75mph; in fifth, the engine turns a little over 2900rpm at 75mph. On long trips, the quiet (and fuel economy) really make a difference.
