DO not pull off the ends. The tube should have come attached to the wires. When you buy a Bav Auto or dealer set the tube is included. If not, screw the tube and use a number of cable ties but make sure not to harm the wires. Although they look pretty tough they can easily be damaged causing poor spark/performance.
I seem to remember splitting open the tube on an older car I had. I used I think a chisel. The put the wires in and used wire ties to assemble. Worked alright. Looked OK. More durable than the above method.
Lastly, unless you can't return the set to the parts store, order a set from one of the vast number of suppliers on line. I don't personally like Bavarian Auto but there are MANY others. BMPD I like in Tyler , TX.
The OE type will probably work better overall anyway.
Dont' forget to buy dielectric grease for inside the boots.
