As far as power goes you probably are not going to gain much, here are the specs.
3.3 Non-Motronic
Yrs 78-79 HP@5500rpm=176 TQ@4000rpm=192
Yrs 80-81 HP@5200rpm=174 TQ@4200rpm=184
W/Motronic
Yrs 82-85 HP@6000rpm=181 TQ@4000rpm=195
3.5 Motronic
Yrs 85-86 HP@5400rpm=182 TQ@4000rpm=213
Yrs 87-88 HP@5700rpm=208 TQ@4000rpm=225
Mind you that this info was taken from my old worn out Chilton manual(might not be that accurate) and this will only apply to the US versions of the two engines. What you have to look at in this enigne swap is that you will most likely have a quieter motor (3.3 only has one row timing chain) and better reliability/fuel economy (L-Jetronic/Motronic) and most important....MORE TORQUE.
