That even though you might replace the pan, you would not pull bearing caps and check wear. Given an engine at, say, 120K and running well when removed from donor?? I've put in a lot of bearings in used engines, if journals miked within tolerances, but have not been into the bottom end of a BMW yet (soon--- maybe?)
