Aux fan should run at low speed and cycle with the a/c compressor when the a/c is on. It is also controled by a two stage switch in the radiator. I would say low speed on at about 3/4 temp. gauge reading. High speed on at about 4/5 temp. gauge reading. These are extreme conditions. Air temp. over 100deg., stuck in traffic. With a good radiator and fan clutch I never see the aux. fan run except with the a/c on.
