I was on my way to Charleston WV, and happened to notice an E12 nose peeking out from behind a garage. I stopped (abruptly). The gentleman that answered the door was very polite and after seeing my car he was more than willing to show me his. It is a 1981 528i Black with tan vinyl interior and that weird cream color carpet. The first thing I noticed was the digital clock in the place of that wonderful VDO Quartz. Then my eyes drifted down to the console where low and behold there stood a proud 5 speed stick. The Car has zero (I repeat) zero rust and the paint would even buff out. The little 2.8 is kinda sickly according to him, his mechanic told him the valves are not seating properly. It hasn't been driven for 5 years and is in need of all new rubber components, belts hoses tires blah blah blah. He also mentioned that the clutch is weak. I am amazed I heard the first word he said I was so busy drooling on the body.
I should hear back from him in a couple of days. I am scraping pennies together, I hope my checking account holds up I will own this one.
