: Got some from Jim at Mesa. Not original, but nice dark gray cloth with hollow gasket. You need to slam the door a little harder but Jim says some of that will go away. Seals a pretty well. About 30% the price of e28 and will work without modification.

I'm comtemplating replacing my driver door seal to solve a minor water leak that 'wicks' its way through the felt door lining (attached to the door jamb) onto the carpet at the front bottom corner of the door. These E28 seals you're referring to, are they rubber that fit into the door itself? My original ('80 528i) door seals are all rubber, no felt. I'm a little confused as to the E28 seal (w/cloth) you're describing. I see door seals offered from Bav. Auto (~$60 a door; front only) and am trying to decide what to do.
Thanks for some clarification.
