After reinstalling all engine components, I'm running into some drivability problems. For example, on a slow acceleration in first and second gear, thr car hesitates badly at exactly 2500 rpm. It is enough to cause the whole car to almost STOP completely, barking the tires in the process. This is BAD! Another problem that may be related is that on the freeway at high speeds, the car Either accelerates, or Decelerates - there is no cruising at a constant speed, as the car shudders violently, and is most certainly not doing anything for a weak drivetrain!
This was occuring about two mos. ago, but ceased mysteriously correcting itself. But after removing the EGR/Vacuum connections/solenoids on the dash, the problem has come back with a vengeance. At first, I thoiught the problem could lie with the retard being directly connected to the Manifold. This is not the case, however, as I stopped up the retard all together and the problem still persisted.
My last hope is thet it is a timing problem, and as my distributor is so worn, it won't hold timin with any reliability at all, it is very unpredictable. I can't experiment with this, however, until I get my Crane system (16 days...) which I am still waiting on.
Any other ideas?
