At one of my first driver schools I drove an '82 733i. I also didn't realize how much it leaned until my friend showed me a picture he took going into a turn.
Did they teach you to look an landmarks off the track to set your line? You can have reference points half a mile away. That is very tough to do until you build trust. Especially useful in blind curves.
