I changed the points with no effect, have tried adjusting the throttle bypass screw with little effect, seems as though all the pics and info i have found do not directly relate to this car, the idle switch is a reed type affair for starters, when trying to adjust the throttle body screw, the engine wanted to backfire, also the throttle plate seems to want to stay closed, also have just noticed a high pitched metalic sounding whine at times,, though not very loud, I don't recall it being there befor this idle prob. started, Oh yea, my throttle body is more of a square shape than those pictured, Any and all help will be greatly appreciated, 78' 530i,,, thanks,,,D
