If it was idling before and happen "suddenly", Then I'd guess you have a vacuum leak somewhere. Check the rubber bellows between the AFM and throttle body, the little on the valve cover, and any other rubber connections in the engine compartment. Most of them get VERY brittle after the years and develop cracks.
