Im not sure if this relates but I had a probem where the car would start have a high or normal idle then gut out 5 seconds or so later...it was the fuel sending unit. that little box behind the antifreeze resorvior. The fix was to bypass the box..evidently the electric line to the fuel pump wasn't working correctly. Just thought I would pass that on. Good luck
