Hi,
Newbie here again. Was wondering your thoughts on making a 77 530i a daily driver here in cleveland, Ohio. Obviously no ABS, airbags, rear wheel, etc but I have to believe that since everybody survived before the creation of said improvements it could be done now. There are about 10 days a year here where you truly do not want to go out without 4 wheel drive but other than that it is fairly temperate. I guess other than a few opinions I wondering:
1. Do most of you have this a primary car?
2. Have you jumped from a pretty advanced car to E12 and regretted it?
3. Snow tires? Which would you recommend?
4. Shop manual? I have had many old cars but this is first BMW. I never really liked Haynes, any rcommendations?
I have begun my research on ownership and regretfully the very first article I read in a BMW magazine compared the 77 and '01 530i and it did not sound very flattering (yes, i understand they are 25 years apart but I just worry about loose tail end)
And yes I checked the FAQ!
