I've recently gone from driving my '92 Saab 9000 turbo to a '79 528i and I love it. The Saab feels like a modern FWD car and it has its virtues, but the old 5 has a classic feel that never makes me feel like I'm missing out. They're different enough to not be really comparable. The BMW sounds sooo much better too. I enjoy running to the store as well as commuting to work.
Blizzaks work great on these cars. I've driven around in 6" Colorado snow with no drama.
