Read the FAQ and start locating and acquiring the parts.
I just finished my conversion. I'm looking at updating
the FAQ; there is nothing wrong, but the parts list
can be made clearer (like with part numbers and some
parts are almost optional he lists) and there are some
details I was surprised to find on my own.
Start there and post questions as needed. I am also a (graduate)
student. It took me about 10 days of work in the garage (including the
2x time factor for perfectionism). The parts acquisition
spanned months.
