I first thought it was because thats the most likely to be bumped when backing out of a parking spot. Then I thought there was some problem with leaking that caused them to fill with water and freeze to break the lenses. But I now have to believe it's the worst of all possibilities. Fate. They just weren't meant to have good drivers side tail lights. Sorta like windows. It never was meant to be an operating system, all by it's self. That's what DOS was for. :-)
