Knowing I'm going to lose in about eight years, starting from rust free, I made sure everything was clean and at least painted. I taped off some obvious access holes to trap areas, and used some of that undercoater spray in the wheel wells.When possible, I try to squirt off the salt mush. Come spring I'll blast everything with a power washer and look for trouble starting.
I've heard the best goop for rust that has started is Por 15. Slows it down, but once it starts, it won't stop. And it gets the entire car.
