Moly is usally an additive that you add to oil...very slippery stuff but not something I think is necessary for an internal combustion engine...

I personally use Mobil one synth. My M535i used it since new (yes it was introduced in europe in 1980 and I have records dating back till then).

I've also used Castrol syntec... but have heard rumors that castrol has is no longer using a true synth base to formulate it any longer. So I will probably stop using it.

Redline? Amsoil? Probably about the same as Mobil one and mobil one is only $4 a quart at wally world.

I use mobil one sythn in 6 of my cars (all bmw/audi's) the rest normally use castrol GTX. being they leak too bad for synth (ever look under a big healey?? Yukk! remember they have no true rear crank seal but only a scroll seal!)
