a fraction of the commercial products, paints on with a brush, dries like a rock, (or like epoxy) and stops the oxidation process by creating a barrier to oxygen. Wire brush any surface rust off, prepare the boiled linseed oil per directions, paint it on....(only where you never want to get it off) and stop the process.
