My E12 based sixer kept having radio cutout symptoms. I did a check on the condition of the battery, and it showed 11.7vdc. The alternator output also showed the same reading. The alt. did look to be the original unit and I figured it was most likely worn brushes and voltage regulator. I replaced it with a remanufactured unit from Bosch. After installation was complete I found that the new alt. is putting out the same voltage as the old one. What's up with that? Is there something else I'm missing in the charging circuit?
