Here's what has happened so far. During removal of the old alternator I had an arc spark situation. This ocurred because I hadn't removed the ground wire from the batt. and when I took the red lead off the alternator it grazed the case(dopey me). I installed the replacement alternator and noticed no change in charging voltage. Driving home last night I was on the battery the whole way, luckily I made it. Today I remove the instrument cluster and check the telltale bulb and it's fine. What strikes me funny though is that the light is on with the key in the OFF position. When I start the engine the light goes out. When the engine is stopped the light comes back on. Any ideas what might have happened?
