Very interesting site pertaining to specific BMW's. Have bought a 76 530i,body and mecchanicals have been maintained by Bmw dealership for the most part.One owner car,all bills since new . Engine was replaced at 6o,000 miles.Car now has 128,000.My question is: Nothing has been done tune up wise for the last 2 years,but I can change the points ,plugs cap ,timing etc. but am unfamiliar with fuel injection end of things.What should I do in this regard...Have injectors flushed?,I believe air flow meter was replaced but needs fine tuning according to previous owner.Any typical injection problems on this model?What is the deal on the cylinder head cracking on this model? Is this an overheating problem?How much hassle is it to disconnect pollution control stuff{is not a concern here}.I will be driving this vehicle from the West coast to Manitoba so any advice or info would be appreciated.This car looks like it would be a fun highway cruiser and I like older German cars.Had a1960 190c Mercedes for 30 yrs!
