The 5-speed used in the 533i is a Getrag 260. It has an integral clutch housing. It is not as rugged as the 265/6. Worse, it does not have a speedo drive AFAIK. I don't know if one can be installed either.
You really need a '80-'81 5-speed from a U.S. spec 5/6/7 series car or an '85 5/6/7 series car or an E30 M3, if you want an O.D. transmission. The only one of those that has a speedo drive is the '80-'81. But, you can add a speedo drive to the others using a kit available from the BMW dealer.
