Take of the dist cap and inspect for water and carbon tracks. Spray with WD40 to displace water. If you have compressed air blow all the water off the wires. My old 320i would do that - I sold it before I replaced the wires or did any other troubleshooting.
I've kept fairly new wires on this car since 84 and have never had that problem so maybe your wires are tired.
