'81 528i 5spd for sale. This car has been undergoing a restoration for 2 years while I drove it. It has had many of the major systems overhauled or replaced.
The car is/was graphite grey, I have been sanding down to but not through the factory primer with 220 grit. I have removed almost every stone and parking lot ding. I was going to paint it black so the body was on its way to perfect.
I have installed a euro spec 635csi bumper airdam, which looks even better than the m535i bumper(hence the stock turn signals remain). Another unique mod was the installation of e-28 style tail lights, using part of an e-28 (using steel). The interior is the nicest part right now, it has a mint black leather interior from an 86 535, with charcoal grey rugs.
The entire heating cooling system has been replaced radiator, hearter core water pump and blower motor. I had a custom add on wiring harness made to incorporate e-28 style window switches that glow near the shifter. I have tracked down an M1 steering wheel,and added a walnut shift knob. The right rear window motor is new as is the sunroof, motor and track. The front end has had the tie rods, pitman arm, ball joints, kyb struts,and sway bushings replaced. the entire braking system was relaced minus the master cyl from bav autosport(rotors calipers and pads all around).
Has a 1 year old ansa 535i exhaust. It is wired with monster cable for an 8 speaker sound system(only comes with 2 boston acoustics and a blaupunkt 4 channel amp. If buyer desires i have the black leather recaro seats from the 635 csi that can go wwith it for the right price.
NOW for what it needs: A stone cracked the outer fuel pump, some rust spot in the trunk need to be patched(body shop said about 3 to 5 hundred) you could easily do it with sanded scrap metal and rivets) body still very solid just the spare tire hole. Also included 2 euro lights, and 2 bbs 14" honeycombs. It needs a new clutch!! but that and a fuel pump and your off. I also moved the battery to the trunk in a marine duty box with 2 gauge wire
