There is the traditional SAE double flare (which looks like a typical flared out fitting) used on the brake systems of american cars and then there is the metric ISO flares.

I have noticed that you can also make a metric ISO double flare with the same kit that I have that makes metric bubble flares I don't know what cars would use them.

When I make metric bubble flares (with my metric kit) I just make sure I don't crush the "bubble" down to the point where you get something that looks like a flat flare or maybe even an double flare. First time you connect the bubble flare fitting it will flatten out to what is needed.

I know this may not be very clear but it is obvious when you look at the ends.

You should make a few for practice as it becomes easy to get the right ends after a few test tries.
