1) The VIN is correct for an M535i. So it isn't a fake.
2) Are you buying the car as a collector? If not, the added sunroof might be a good thing in terms of value if it was done with factory parts. If not, it only matters if you desire a sunroof or not.
3) If you like the car and can strike a deal with the seller that you're happy with, that is all that matters.
4) Yes, there are a lot of opinionated folks here, including me. We do need to be careful. On at least two occasions, we have run off folks because we have a good bit of experience with E12s, but are too emphatic about it. On the other hand, we have straightened out some people who needed it. It's hard to know how hard to push when you think someone is headed down the wrong road.
