Okay so I finally bought a new battery and fired up the beast tonight...78 530i...This thing idles like a twin engine Cessna getting ready for take off, so I took off the AFM cleaned it with carb cleaner wiped it inside and out to get rid of the gunk, the action on the door is nice and springy turned the idle screw out about 4 turns and that brought it down but as soon as I hit the gas VROOM it went up again and stayed there oh and the rad gets hot fast...im guessing because of the idle.so I took and ohm meter and took off the cover on the opposite side of the throttle linkage I think it's the WOT switch...(there is a black boot connector going to it...) and put the meter to 200 it bottomed out at 005 on all the connections. So now what Im really stuck here. Thanks guys in advance.
