Common misconception. The screw located under the AFM is used to adjust the idle air fuel mixture. It allows a small amount of air to bypass the AFM. This is unmetered air (air that does not go through the AFM) and only affects idle quality.
Check the attached picture. What you are looking for is labeled the "Throttle bypass Screw". It adjusts the idle RPM by allowing a small amount of air to bypass the throttle plate. This is metered air (air that goes through the AFM).
Before you go any further please read the "L-Jetronic Throttle FAQ" located off the FF home page under the "Technical FAQ" link. Adjust the throttle body as required. Also check the throttle linkage and TB for any binding and verify the timing is properly set.
