ok, the starter motor runs just fine now, I had disconnected it when trying to connect the a wire at the back of the block. My car no longer idles, if I let off the throttle, the engines soon dies. This has something to do with the vacuum advance and retard. I read up about it, and a 1981 528i shouldn't have a vacuum retard, but if I don't have it connected, i have extra tubes and openings. How are they supposed to be connected?
