It's a finishing product. You don't boil it... it comes as "boiled linseed oil". Often see it referred to in treating tools like shovels and axes against rust and corrosion... bit messy, but runs into all the nooks and crannies, drys hard, forms a tight seal against the elements and is a real son-of-a-gun to get off. But, it's cheap, easily applied and works good.
