Curt - here is another fix that will protect things until you ceck everything else out. I used in several beater cars in eastern Canada. Get some good quality roofing cement (the kind that can be put on a wet roof - adheres better) and cut up some old blue jeans for a patch several inches bigger than the hole. Do this for both sides. Coat the jean material liberally on both sides with the cement and apply to the hole. When you have coated both sides, in about a week you will have a patch as good as fibreglass and easier to work with. Works great on place that are not structural and hidden away.
