or you can do what a hispanic guy did. he had an 528i for sale everything looked good except he spray painted the rims with chrome paint. He also didnt bother to take off the tires because they had chrome spray paint all over them also. looked awful :) Todd : Bim-what????
: Anyway, Roger Wray from coupe list mentioned that Rustolium Aluminum spray paint topped with Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic Coating does a great job and will hold up for a long time. You might try sanding minot scratches and divots first.
: Someone on the list was able to duplicate Roger's success. So it's repeatable.
: good luck
: BTW, I used Wurth and it did a good job also.

: : Hi Bimwads,
: : I have the stock turbine style 14x6.5 wheels on my 1980
: : 528i and they look pretty good, but I'd like them to
: : look better. So, does anybody have any ideas on how I
: : would go about restoring them to like new condition.
: : Has anybody done this? There's a place locally that
: : will do it, but they want $100 per wheel and I just
: : can't see paying that much. I'd appreciate any
: : thoughts anybody has.
: : Happy Thanksgiving to everybody!
: : Thanks,
