Mesa sell the Sanden 508 with a bracket kit to fit all M30 engines that don't use thermal reactors http://www.mesaperformance.com/
However , the a/c compressor might not be at fault. I replaced the original Behr a/c compressor on my 1976 e12 last year with the Sanden 508. I didn't need to because the original compressor was still working. It turns out that the new Sanden didn't make the system any more efficient. What did improve the a/c was a new condenser from Vintage Air , and it's not difficult to see why when you compare the number of cooling fins per square inch with a regular e12 condenser.
If you can hear the compressor come on it's probably ok. The most frequent cause of a/c problems are refrigerant leaks. A/C hoses can deteriorate with age and eventually need replacement like anything else.
Go to an honest a/c shop , they can trace possible leaks. Chances are they will trace it , replace a hose or two , refill the system put on a new drier flask and it will be good as new and you will have saved on the price of a reconditioned compressor.
