I had also chased the same battery drain problem for a long time. I repaired/replaced all the usual things (grounds, alt. etc) including a new larger battery (which extended the drain time a couple of days). I remembered a post earlier this year (Dave Spencer I think) about a similar drain problem being resolved by a new ignition switch. I initially hesitated replacing the original switch because it seemed to function perfectly with no other issues mentioned in other posts, but recently replaced it with a new one and the drain problem appears to be gone. I'll know for sure the next time I am away longer than a week. New switch is ~$50 from dealer.
