Perhaps the cables were adjusted too tightly. Take off the rubber boot around the bottom of the E-brake handle and look at the adjustment nuts. Loosen them up a bit and see if your handle works better. Examine the rachet mechanism at the rear of the e-brake. Make sure its clean and add a little grease/lubricant. Also look to see if one cable is too loose (and not working). Get them to the point where they both pull equally and then adjust them both evenly,,,going back and forth tightening the nuts until the e-brake handle clicks about 3 times. Of course you may have a broken cable also, but you will know soon enough after this look-see. Good luck.
