Well, here's the thing. Unlike alot of speed freaks, (no offense intended to anyone of you gentlemen or ladies "If there are more than Tara") I drive my old L-Jet 530ia with out Lambda and I do suffer from poor gas mileage. And yes, my car is a bit sluggish off the line, I am sure many things are out of adjustment. I just have to drive the car on a daily basis. I have thought more about going 40 DCOE more than Lambda, Granted syncronization is a bitch, and tuning is a head pain. THe low end really comes back and it sounds great. Now there again is the problem of money, Good Ole Korman sells the M30 40 DCOE conversion kit for astonshingly high prices. I cannot quote it because the number scared me so badly the first time, I forgot it immediately. I can't justify spending that kind of money for a car that I only gave a grand for. I gave more for the Korman stage II 3.0 used from a wrecked car at $1500. i now wish I had of applied the money to a Carb conversion kit and a good set of cams.
But live and learn.
Thanks but No, Gunther will retain the original junky guess work 530i injection. The exhaust note alone is intimidating to most Boy racers in their Hondas with the 6" exhaust tip.
: A simple upgrade for your 530 for $200, what a steal. I'll trade you for your Beetle... just kidding.
The Beetle is a rust bucket, I got the body off the pan and found bad heater boxes, the battery tray area is nearly non existant and the engine seems to eb suffering from some strange green alien life form that began life in the gas tank.
: There's 8 days, 5 hours, 20 minutes, 5 seconds, etc, left... (look familiar) :-)
