I don't know anything about brake hoses as I have never replaced mine, but...
In the past, it was necessary to avoid (like the plague) any situations which called for rapid deceleration. My car didn't really fade so much as dart hard and suddenly to the right under hard braking. Over time this I fixed this nuisance, however I don't know exactly which of the folowing played the largest part. I think they all contributed to a very scary ride. Now my car drives nice and straight, and stops on a dime in a straight line. Furthermore, everthing on my front end has been replaced with stock parts. I digress.

Front brake calipers. Huge Huge improvement. FYI there are three (yes three) bleeding points on each.
When looking at your various ball joints, tie rods, control arms PITMAN ARM BUSHING, etc, I noticed mine all seemed to go at the same time. Best to do them all at once if you can afford it.

I did make a little brake bleeding helper tool with a glass bottle, and some length of rubber hose. This worked kinda like a reverse bong and was great for flushing the lines and bleeding. I used it in conjunction with the typical two man pump-hold-release method.(no wise cracks neccessary dr. freud)

That being said, listen to the pros.
My 2sense worth...
