Guys,
As one of the 5er Fest 2002 coordinators I would like to offer my sincerest apology for the message Duke posted earlier today. The message is in no way a reflection of a general disdain from the 5er Fest 2002 team toward e12 cars, or e12 enthusiasts. It was just a simple, albeit a regretful mistake made by one of the coordinators. I'm embarassed and was frankly pretty angry about it, since I'm one of you guys, yet associated with the event organization. I've "notified" Duke that I do not appreciate the insulting lack of tact directed toward the club in which I belong. And while I can't promise anybody that it'll never happen again, I can assure you that if it does, it is NOT sanctioned by the 5er Fest team.
In Duke's defense, it was really just a mistake on his part. He's actually a good guy who made a misguided attempt to attract more interest from the e12 community and didn't think his actions through before he posted. We all make mistakes. Please don't hold it against the event, or even against Duke for too long. Once in a while we just have to give his leash a snap to keep him in line and I already snapped it. ;-)
Thanks,
Jim Davis
