Dead E12: the mystery deepens...

Not the AFM or the fuel pump after all. A mysterious electrical problem. The auto electrician's chasing it (haven't started counting the $$ per hour yet, but I'm sure the clock is ticking). Anyway, the symptoms are: battery good, ECU good, motor turns healthily, there is spark, there is fuel.

They got it going by bypassing something-or-other and jumping it from the fuel pump to whatever (this is a precis of a very brief conversation). "Weird", was the technical term the mechanic used. (he hates electrics and gets his auto sparkie mate to sort these out).

Not very manly of me to not sit down and spend 5 weeks to figure it out myself, but it being a daily driver and all, the '12's gotta earn its living :-) Also, I reckon the auto sparkie's test equipment will find it much faster than I will with a magnifying glass and an abacus. At least I won't get ripped as the mechanic runs a trustworthy shop.
