Before you start realigning things, check the nylon "thingies" that go on the outermost fork of the rotating portion of the door lock mechanism. To rephrase, the nylon "shoe" goes on the fork-like thing that rotates into and engages the striker plate. (I wish I had a better grasp of the terminology, but I did learn this from experience.)
The get old, crack, and fall off. Then the doors get hard to close. Open all the doors and check your locks, there's still probably one or two on the car - most likely on the least used doors.
Replace them all and then try the doors. If they still don't work right, post a fax no. and I'll fax you the relevant pages of the BMW Repair Manual.
