I coined the term after looking at the ugly tangle of plumbing under the intake pipes of his 79 528. They looked like some of the plumbng in the submarine from 20,000 Leages Under the Sea.
I guess my age is showing as well. Disney made the movie 20,000 LUtS back in the early 60's.
The 80 and 81 528's have the aux air on top of the engine neat the throttle and all of the thermo sensors in the thermostat inlet cluster at the front of the engine.
If you have access to a bone yard, you can convert relatively easy to the newer style system.
