Fixing is easy. You have to take off the upper front timing cover, but that's not that big a deal. Set the crank at #1 tdc. Exactly. Then remove the lockplates and bolts, remove the gear, and carefully move the cam into the correct position. Then reassemble. Of course, don't drop the chain, you will probably have to take out the tensioner piston and be sure to use locktite and or the lockplates when you reassemble the cam gear, I use both, you really don't want that thing coming loose. And either use new gaskets or sealant when reassembling to prevent oil leaks. But it's enough of a hassle, just double check it before and after you do it.
