Mine did that. Felt a bit stiff too. Then it broke. New one was about $20.00. Tie or tape a line to the old one and then switch the line to the new one and use it to pull the new one through to the engine compartment. Really easy (once I got the hood open). Do yourself a favor and change it while it still works.
